Not to mention, the way that my application went through, I applied for A checking account, and was not told which one I was approved for until I was literally approved and the account was open. So I was fully prepared to entirely switch my checking banking to PNC, re-route my auto-pays, direct deposit, everything, possibly even bring over deposit accounts (although not with their terrible rates) and a credit account, but the fact that I tried for well over an hour to contact anyone without getting disconnected, then the general attitude of PNC was “tough” was really poor. There are currently at least two other banks that are offering the same bonus, and have a 90 day fulfillment date, which is more reasonable. I hear what you’re saying, and I wholly think ADP is crap and behind the times, but ADP’s response is “well it can take up to 2 pay periods.” Which stinks, but is not uncommon. I will absolutely be filing my “bluff” complaints (I also work for a bank), but wanted to warn others to skip PNC altogether. I hate to be dramatic, but I can see this easily happening to others, and they so I wholly consider this a scam. So at best, their “cash bonus” will now COST me my Saturday morning, and $25. I logged back in, only for PNC’s chat feature to now be disabled, at least on my account page. She said “excuse me a moment” and then I was promptly booted off of my online session. Excuse me? I informed her I had all documentation saved, and my complaint to said agencies would now include her claim that she had filed a complaint on my behalf. She then said, no need, she has gone ahead and filed a complaint for me. I informed her that this is deceptive practices, and I will be filing a complaint with the Atty Gen and the SEC. It is only listed AFTER the account is opened, which the chat agent confirmed. I should note here, that I very THROUGHLY read through and SAVED the terms of agreement prior to opening an account with them, this was not listed. They then informed me that it would be a $25 fee if the account is closed within 180 days. They could not extend the time frame, so I asked to close my account. I tried 3 different phone numbers, and went through the menu with each, only to be disconnected each time. I contacted (or attempted to) PNC to see if they are able to extend past 60 days (as at least 2 other banks are currently offering the same, and giving 90 days). ADP’s idiocracy aside- I now will not make the requirement of direct deposit in 60 days. Unfortunately, the first issue was ADP (Automatic Data Processing) has taken over a MONTH to verify the new bank account, resulting in my paychecks also now coming to my house as paper checks. So I signed up for a PNC virtual wallet performance select account as they are currently offering a $300 cash bonus if you open an account, and have $5,000 in qualifying direct deposits in the first 60 days.
